ServiceTitan cost calculator — what it actually costs per technician.

ServiceTitan does not publish its pricing, so contractors compare notes in forum threads and guess. This calculator uses the ranges those reports consistently land on — $250 to $500 per technician per month — and shows you the five-year number, plus what the same capability costs to build outright.

Versus a custom build — Full custom platform

A comparable platform costs $80,000$130,000 to build once. Against your subscription, that pays back in roughly 27 months — and the gap keeps widening, because a custom platform does not charge you more for hiring your next technician.

Assumptions and sources
  • ServiceTitan does not publish list pricing. Public analyses and contractor reports put it at $250–$500 per technician per month depending on tier and add-ons. Every figure here is a reported range, not a quote.
  • One-time implementation is reported at $5,000–$50,000+, scaling with headcount.
  • Break-even assumes a custom platform still costs 25–40% of equivalent licensing to host and maintain, so only about 70% of the subscription is genuinely recovered. It uses midpoints of every range.
  • Excluded: payment-processing fees, third-party integrations, and the internal time cost of a migration — all of which apply to both options.

What ServiceTitan costs in 2026

ServiceTitan runs roughly $250 to $500 per technician per month depending on tier and add-ons, plus a one-time implementation fee reported between $5,000 and $50,000. A 15-technician shop is therefore looking at about $4,500 a month at the midpoint. A 10-technician shop on Essentials with Marketing Pro clears $63,000 a year.

None of those are list prices, because there is no published list price. They are the ranges that public pricing analyses and contractor reports converge on. We show ranges rather than single figures for that reason — anyone quoting ServiceTitan to the dollar is guessing more confidently than the evidence allows.

Why per-technician pricing gets worse as you grow

Per-seat pricing charges you for headcount, but headcount is what growth looks like in the trades. Every truck you add raises the software bill by the same amount, forever, whether or not that truck needed any new software built for it. The bill scales with your payroll instead of with the value the software delivers.

That is fine at five trucks and irritating at fifteen. Somewhere between twenty and forty it becomes the second or third largest line item in the overhead, and the question stops being "which SaaS?" and starts being "why are we renting this?"

When building your own actually makes sense

Below about five technicians, it does not — and the calculator says so rather than quoting you a number. The subscription is cheap relative to a build, and your operation is probably still changing shape month to month. Stay on Housecall Pro or Jobber.

  • Under 5 technicians — stay on SaaS. A build will not pay back.
  • 5 to 15 — an AI or automation overlay on your existing CRM usually beats both a migration and a rebuild. $3k–$15k.
  • 15 to 40 — the range where a custom platform typically pays back in 18 to 30 months and keeps paying afterwards.
  • 40+ — per-seat licensing is now a major overhead line, and the workflows you need are the ones the SaaS charges consultants to configure.

What the calculator leaves out

Payment-processing fees, third-party integrations, and the internal time cost of a migration. Those apply to both options and would mostly cancel out, but they are real money and this page would be dishonest to imply otherwise. The break-even figure also assumes a custom platform still costs 25% to 40% of equivalent licensing to host and maintain — software you own is not software that runs itself.
